This site is my story of the involvement I have had with the Comrades Marathon, the “ultimate human race”, a foot race over a distance of approximately 90km between the two cities in the province of Kwa Zulu-Natal in South Africa.

The race attracts an entry of over 20,000 runners and is held every year on the second Sunday of June.

It was first run in 1921 with just 48 entrants, 34 starters and 16 finishers and, with the exception of the years of the Second World War, has been held every year since then.
